The panel, which consisted of expert land agents from across the country, mostly pointed towards a positive outlook for the land market despite volatility in other areas.

COVID-19 land real estate trends are continually evolving. For the most up-to-date information on the land market in your area, contact a land agent near you. Opinions and advice expressed in this session are not necessarily endorsed by the REALTORS® Land Institute and information should not be construed as recommendations for any course of action regarding financial, legal, investment, real estate, or accounting matters without further consultation about your unique circumstances by a land expert in your market.

Growing Your Wealth with Agriculture Investments

Agricultural production is one of the oldest, most profitable investments available. With each passing year, the world must feed more people with less arable land. Global demographics will continue those trends as the earth’s population grows by another three billion people in the next few decades. In a time of financial uncertainty, there is no better asset to own than income-producing farm, timber, or ranch land. These investments provide tangible yields derived from naturally produced products and have beaten the returns from other asset classes for years. Learn about why an investment in agriculture matters for the future, the different types of agriculture investments, and how you can invest in private ag investments with crowdfunding.

Do You Know The Options for Deferring Capital Gains Taxes?

Check Out the Recording

Section 1031 Like-Kind Exchanges are a hot topic right now as discussions of Tax Reform linger in D.C. However, a less well known tax tool exists that can often be used in lieu of a 1031. In this webinar, attendees will learn how:

  • this alternative, with a 20-year track record of deferring taxes, can help RLI members close more real estate deals
  • it can help agents obtain more listings and new clients by deferring taxes since other brokers may not know how to take advantage of this powerful tax tool
  • to recognize opportunities to defer taxes when a 1031 isn’t appropriate
  • to defer taxes when your seller wants to sell and retire but still defer taxes
  • to defer taxes regardless of the type of property

This webinar is appropriate for agents and their clients who are concerned about selling because of taxes. This webinar is also appropriate for CPAs, attorneys, qualified intermediaries and farm credit professionals, and  rural banks that take an active role in helping people buy and sell real estate.
